Inseparable Five

And now for something completely different.

So a few of you might be aware how a few months ago, I got into Sailor Moon. Though I *definitely* don't like it for the same reasons I liked it as a 7 year old, I still find it very entertaining at times.

I'm not really into drawing anime so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone and practice realism with these girls. Now, I've seen some excellent realistic SM fanart, but often I think "Man...they're just a bit too pretty," as if their essence wasn't really captured. Of course, they're supposed to be beautiful, as "Bishoujo Senshi" implies, but I wanted to make them look more like normal girls rather than celebrities. (Minako is kind of one though...) I know some parts are off, but I wasn't always patient enough to find a reference so I kind went with my gut. Which wasn't always right.

I based their poses/expressions/clothes off this poster that I bought a month ago: [link] (excuse the crappy webcam quality) and not so much their overall appearance. (Which is why Usagi looks so young in this-- her expression in the poster was asking for it 8I) I also know they're all supposed to be Japanese but nyehhhh-- Asians with fluorescent blonde hair don't cut it for me. XP It's just my own interpretation of them really, so if you don't see them like this, that's fine. (Though I still wish I could change some parts. @_@)

If I ever make another Sailor Moon fanart, it'll definitely be with Haruka and Michiru, my favourite characters. X'D (I actually made one in July, but once I decided their heads were too big I scrapped the idea of posting them altogether)
